DESCRIPTION
The Reinforcing Fabric is a balanced
open-weave glass fabric specially treated for compatibility with
the other system components. When fully embedded in the base material,
the Reinforcing Fabric provides a resilient layer which improves
tensile strength, as well as impact resistance. The fabric is available
in a variety of strengths: Standard, Intermediate and Heavy Duty.
Smaller rolls (9.5 inches wide) for corners, details, and wrap-arounds
are also available. Alkali resistant and flame retardant.
APPLICATION
Evenly apply the specified Basecoat
to the exposed surface. Embed Reinforcing Fabric in the wet Basecoat,
lapping the joints a minimum of 60mm (2½") trowel smooth
leaving no mesh visible.
For "high impact" areas Heavy
Duty Reinforcing Fabric shall be embedded in a Basecoat layer in
a similar manner. The fabric shall be buttjoined, with no laps,
and allowed to dry for at least 24 hours. This shall be done prior
to installing the Standard Fabric reinforced Basecoat. Both reinforced
Basecoats are necessary for high impact areas.
