ACRYLIC SUPERBOND

DESCRIPTION

A concentrated acrylic emulsion designed for modifying Portland cement compositions to improve adhesion and to control suction on porous substrates such as concrete block, sand and cement, stucco, masonry surfaces and a variety of sheathing boards. suitable for interior and exterior use, as a general cement modifier to improve flexural strength, abrasion resistance and impact strengths.

PROPERTIES

The Acrylic Superbond is a concentrated acrylic bonding primer and cement mortar modifier. The product is used in modified concrete or mortars for:

Stucco to reduce cracking and increase ease of application

Floors of darkest, food processing plants and industrial floors

Bridge decks, parking ramps, to reduce salt penetration

Repairing spalled concrete areas, patching and resurfacing

Leveling of floor underlayments

Nosing for stairs

Lining of ducts and channels

Precast architectural building panels

Terrazzo flooring

Slurries for water resistant renderings

When used as a primer to control suction and improve adhesion, reduce Superbond 1 to 3 with water. The material can be brushed, rolled or sprayed. The Superbond should still be moist when the other components of the system are applied. Do not apply below 5°C or on frosty surfaces.

STABILITY AND STORAGE

The Superbond is stable and able to withstand five cycles of freezing at -15°C and thawing at 25°C. However before use, the material should be stirred to make sure that it is homogeneous. Recommended storage is in a cool place above freezing temperatures.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION

Superbond is nontoxic by single acute oral or dermal exposure. It may be a mild to moderate skin and eye irritant. In addition many of the components of cement used in conjunction with Superbond may possess significant skin and eye irritation potential. Up to date material safety data sheets (MSDS) are available.
