The Association of Wall and Ceiling Contractors of B.C. and the Alberta Drywall Lath and Plaster Association issued a Specifications Standards Manual for wall and ceiling construction in 1993.

This standards manual is the most comprehensive document for use in detailing performance requirements for wall and ceiling systems. The manual conforms to the latest requirements of the 1990 National Building Code and is recognized as the authority in the wall and ceiling industry.

The manual contains sections on Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) (Section 9.12) and Acrylic Stucco (Section 9.13). Performance characteristics testing for these systems include the following:

Accelerated Weathering Water Vapour Transmission
Impermeability To Water Water Absorption Of Coating
Salt Spray Resistance Fire Test Performance
Absorption Freeze Structural Testing
Abrasion Resistance Adhesive Bonding Properties

Section 9.12 Part 4 of the manual is a Guide Specification for EIFS and under "Quality Assurance - Standard Specifications" Item 1.3.4. reads as follows:

"The proposed system manufacturer shall provide the Consultant, if requested, with satisfactory evidence indicating conformance of his products with the requirements specified in the AWCC Specification Standard Manual"

By requesting the evidence in their specification at the time of tendering the architects can be assured of receiving bids that meet performance standards set by the industry thereby allowing them to compare "apples with apples".

The materials manufactured and distributed by Preswitt have been tested and are monitored by a recognized certification program. Warnock Hersey confirms conformance of our products with the requirements of the above standards.
